We rarely hear true R&B anymore. I’m talking about the 90’s type of R&B. The soulful voice and band combo. Instead we usually get the autotune and 808s type of R&B. I mean, it’s not always bad but it gets boring. So I was happy to come across this new song by Tiera Beverly titled “Can’t Talk” released on August 31, 2019.
With this song, you get an old school R&B feel. There is no doubt in Tiera’s singing abilities. She doesn’t hide behind autotune or a distracting beat. Tiera incorporates a band in this song which allows her voice to stand out. And when I say her voice stands out, I mean she has a broad vocal range and kills every note. If you are looking for proof, listen from 3:20 to 3:35 of the video below.
Doing a bit of research, it seems that musical talent is in Tiera Beverly’s DNA. She is the granddaughter of Frankie Beverly, and currently works with Jason Mater and Brandon Rogers who have built their own impressive resumes. To put so much magic in her debut song, I expect that the name Tiera Beverly will be known and heard everywhere really soon. Make sure to check out the video below and let us know what you think.
