One of the most realistic songs I’ve heard in a while. In the form of melody, Stevie Ray from The Bay delivers truth in a new song titled Nothing But Love. I tried summarize the main message of the song in my own words but, honestly, the hook explains the message sufficiently.
I’ve been told I’m broke, I got nothing but love;
But what you got don’t put you above me;
You got everything, except for what you need;
It’s love! Oh, its love!
We don’t have to look far for an example of what Stevie Ray is talking about, especially under the current circumstances of this pandemic. When you can’t go out and stunt on the club scene, use your celebrity status to do the crazy things other folks can’t do, and everyone is forced to stay home, that is when the important things take a front stage. That is the message of this song. Love, family, friends, etc., is what is most important in life.
After discovering this song, I immediately put this on my personal playlist. It’s rare that you get a pure, solid message in today’s music. Stevie Ray declares this song as a celebration of love and a rejection of capitalist programming. It’s about loving people now, and letting go of the idea that you have to become someone to be someone. The song is currently available on Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
