Today, I have something new to share that I’ve just come across recently going through our submissions. It’s a new slow-paced single from Mon G titled Mine Back that was released just this summer. The song is not one you’d expect to hear in a club or on the party scene but may be one that is played on the way back home from either place with someone you connected with while out on your way to making a little love connection. At least that is the vibe I get from during my first couple of listens.
Mon G revealed that the song has a dual meaning. “It’s a split between the rollercoaster of emotions that come from someone being unfaithful in a relationship and trying to cover it up, and someone battling with themselves mentally.” The 18-year-old Virginia artist packed this song with different emotions from pain, love, and aspirations for success. With this being his first official project, he is already showing maturity in his art.
Mine Back is a part of Mon G’s debut project titled July 19th, released July 19, 2020, and is available on both Apple Music and Spotify. For more information about Mon G, follow him on Instagram and Twitter.
