This song is major! The different levels and talent displayed in What We Are by Akuvi, an artist with roots in Ghana and Norway, makes this a must add to your daily playlist rotation and, honestly, should be given some shine on major radio stations.
The song comes off as a soft and subtle R&B track, but then quickly turns up the heat during a fast paced, artful and lyrical laced ramp towards the chorus, which gives an enticing foreign vibe. I wish I knew another way to describe the experience leading to and through the chorus but I can’t without first hearing from the artist. I will update the description once informed.
I feel no description, that I can give at least, would give the uniqueness of this song the justice it deserves. You just have to hear it for yourself. And I mean that!
