Today is the beginning of the National Hispanic Heritage Month. Annually from September 15th to October 15th here in the United States, we get an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the culture, contributions, and influence of Hispanic Americans throughout the history of this country. Also, September 15th is the National Independence Day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
I thought it would be good to start National Hispanic Heritage Month by posting a bit of history of each of the countries who celebrate their independence today. This will allow us to learn some background history of those who now live in the U.S. but have roots elsewhere. Enjoy!
