3MMR: Episode 43 – “Raindrops” by Zai Allday
Arizona, what’s good out in these streets. I been on the hunt for some new fire and found it in the form of “Raindrops” by the R&B sensation, Zai Allday. This joint is catchy with smoky production (think drake-era “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”) and well laid vocals, giving it high replay value. The hook is a play on the song “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” by B.J. Thomas, and Zai sets fire from the jump singing, “Raindrops keep falling on my head now/ drippin and it’s wet now/ wave is super grow, yea/ it’s flowin, yea/”. Zai glides easily over track with the rhythm and cadence of a skilled emcee who just so happens to be singing.
3MMR. Episode 42. Stoop Kid. “No Reply”
It’s that time again people! Wednesday is for Three Minute Music Reviews. Grab your pop corns and settle in because we got new Arizona music to get to. This week’s feature artist is Stoop Kid, and his drippy, trap-hop joint “No Reply”. “No Reply”, is contemporary hip hop at its best with its mechanical beat and simple hook: “fuck a op/ fuck a cop/ fuck a bitch in my shocks/ getting paid, getting guap/”. Stoop kid isn’t pushing the limits lyrically in any way, shape, or form, but he captures the “trap swag” vibe of the new era with his content, delivery, and beat selection.
3MMR: Episode 41 – “Come & Go” by DZE ft. Emmitt Dupree & Charley Brown
Residents of the burning bird, what’s good!? Wednesday has arrived again, and I’m back with more of the hottest Arizona music. If you haven’t heard about Krown Sound, please get familiar. The collective featuring rapper/singer, Emmitt Dupree (@king_emmitt), singer/producer Charley Brown (@charleybrown412), producer (@k_zone94), rapper DZE (@chiefdze), rapper/producer (@triprexx) has put out some of the best music the Arizona scene has had in a while. Led by the R&B/Rap hybrid Emmitt Dupree, this entire set is poised to over the state. This week’s feature, “Come & Go”, is from the eclectic DZE, who has a style reminiscent of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Ironically enough, ODB is his SoundCloud avatar.
3MMR: Episode 40 – “Do U Wanna” by Noah Wright
What’s good out there, Bird City!? It’s your boy, Bo, back with another sound bomb for your listening pleasure! We’re kicking off Week 40 with a review with the talented Noah Wright. His sex fueled hit, “Do U Wanna?”, finds Noah smoothly rhyming over a relaxed and mostly simple beat. The video, directed by the talented Tony Kure, is highly sexual and really catches the mood and vibe of the song, including some ill-advised pornographic moaning at the end of the video.
3MMR: Episode 39 – “Destiny” by B$tone ft. Savannah Justice & David James
Bird City, what’s happening’!? Cooler weather has finally arrived and with it comes more Arizona bangers from the three-minute music review! This week we bring some reggae vibes in the form of “Destiny” from B$tone of EpodTribe, featuring the beautiful pipes of Savanah Justice on the hook, and a dope island inspired verse from David James. What strikes the ear immediately about “Destiny” is how bright the sonic palate is. The high organ keys compliment the verse from David James, and provide a nice contrast to the darker sound of B$tone’s verse. A really enjoyable aspect of this song (aside from the good verses and solid production) is the message of controlling your destiny and not being held down.
3MMR: EPISODE 38 – “Hell Naw” by Smeared Lipstick Crew
What’s good my Bird City brethren?! Rain has finally come to wrap up a blazing hot summer, but we still smoking over here with new blazing Arizona Hip-Hop. Invading your ear drums this week is the all-female squad, the “Smeared Lipstick Crew” and their new single “Hell Naw”.

Bird City, when will the heat let up!?! Still hot outside and still hot here on the review with our latest feature artist, Stylz the Artiste and his smooth Janet Jackson backed single “So Lonely”.
